As many people have already mentioned it's a very bumpy ride from Lithgow to the Glow Worm tunnel. I love off-roading, and planned the time it would need to do it safely. You're not going to do this at 60, or even 40, so plan accordingly and you won't be upset. The tunnel and the walking track to it are well maintained and safe enough.
